Above the Turquoise Trail - Sold
"Above the Turquoise Trail", 8 x 10 In, Oil on Museum Board
I didn't know the name of the valley I was painting until I got home and looked it up. But even without knowing the name, "Turquoise Trail", there it was in the valley shadow. Of course maybe that refers to real turquoise--now I have to get out my history books or maybe someone from down there will enlighten me!
!--Purchase this unframed painting for $225.

I really like those wonderful bands of color moving way, way into the distance.
ReplyDeleteThe power of atmospheric perspective at work. The turquoise is unique but I have actually seen that color in the shadow at a certain time of day. I think the color of the sun has something to do with it. As usual, your brushwork is fabulous.
Thank you Julie!
ReplyDeletesimple and beautiful. Love the colors you use in your skies. They are alive.
