Utah Valley Light
"Utah Valley Light", 10 x 12 In, Oil on Museum Board
There are so many places to paint in Utah. Sometimes I don't quite remember the exact location of a painting--especially two years later. But when I discovered this one in a pile of paintings, I liked the atmosphere. Since we usually go to Utah in April or May, this must have been painted from photo and memory

Harts Pass - SOLD
In June, on the way to the Plein Air Washington paint-out in Republic, Washington, we drove up the narrow gravel road to Harts Pass in the North Cascades west of Mazama, WA. This is said to be highest maintained road in the State of Washington (6,100ft) above the sea level, and is located in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. When we got back down the Ranger told us we were looking at Tatie Peak. It was chilly with patches of snow, but the most glorious place to paint out the back of the van.
This is from my series of palette knife paintings.
