"Utah Canyon Trees"

"Utah Canyon Trees", 8 x 10 In, Oil on Museum Board
I'm continuing my experimentation with palette knife. Its both easier to mix variations of color and easier to put it down.

New Mexico Cloudy Day

"New Mexico Cloudy Day", 8 x 10 In, Oil on Museum Board
This is a painting from a couple of months ago. I have many paintings from a couple of months ago but I haven't posted many being busy with so many other things. I have a system of keeping track of the paintings which includes putting a date on the back (which is something so easy to forget) and photographing them. I also enter them in a database and a spreadsheet and track the date I blog or post on FB. I'm curious how other artists keep track of their paintings!

Last Light Fremont River

"Last Light Fremont River"
I am still experimenting with palette knife, partly because it is the direction my muse is taking me and partly because it would be so much easier to travel without mineral spirits. There is a different mentality to it--one that is more abstract.

Baja Elias Calles

"Baja Elias Calles", 8 x 10 In, Oil on Museum Board
This was the first painting I did on that sunny day in February on the coast of Baja near Todos Santos. The Pacific was a glorious blue.
