"White Cup", 10 x 8 In, Oil on Panel
This is my response to the latest Daily Painter's Challenge. I decided to do it with a palette knife, which made it fun, because for me the palette knife is so awkward that there is no way I can ever go on "auto-pilot" during the painting process. As I was working on this, I was listening on the radio to the news coming out of Japan. One of my aunts was in the Red Cross during WWII and she is one of my most admired people. So in her memory I made a pledge to myself to write a check to the Red Cross at the end of the day.

I always like your palette knife results. Lots of movement and tactile qualities.

Love how you always challenge yourself. Colors in the white cup are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSweet of you to honor your aunt by donating in her memory.
Really nice, Kathryn! I love the variety of "whites" and the paint handling of the cup in contrast to the colorful, textured background.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful application and color, Kathryn!
