Backstreet San Diego - NFS

Simplification of composition in Stuart's class was an interesting challenge. When you are out there on the street, trying new things, you never know how it will turn out or what it will lead to. This was a timed painting from the second day of the workshop.

    Oh goodie, timed paintings, I love those. Can you say more about the range of times used in the workshop?

    Thank you Jerry and Bobbi for your comments! The second day of the workshop included 5 and 10 minute sketches in the morning. This painting was more like 30-45 minutes.

    Timed paintings are tough (at least for me!) This composition is simple, yet so strong. and the colors in the shadows are something I always look for- love it!
