Swan Valley Study #6 - SOLD

"Swan Valley Study #6", 10 x 8 In, Oil on Museum Board
This an Idaho Swan Valley painting I did attempting to practice a particular brush technique I learned from Ovanes. This part of the valley has meandering streams and ponds just east of the Snake River. In the evening we saw a mother moose and two calves just on the other side of this pond.

  1. Do you mean Ovanes Berberian?
    I love this piece.

  2. Kathryn, the reflections in this are particularly beautiful, and I love the way you show the dark bit at the base of the grass at the water's edge. Wonderful colors. At the risk of over simplifying, is the brush technique about vertical strokes? They are really powerful in this piece.
