"Wind on the Cove", 12 x 8 In, Oil on Panel
Sometimes at the end of the day after I have put away a painting I have worked on for two or three hours, I like to just let go and paint the moment--especially of the view directly out my window of the Cove as the light is changing. It is the type of painting that is quick, in this case about 30 minutes, and is truly an impression and not "fixed up." The wind was howling all day, pushing the water into the Cove and the clouds across the sky.

What a gorgeous thing. The values just nail it to the wall, don't they? That reflection shadow along the bank is amazing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color....you can really feel the elements.
ReplyDeleteIt looks cold! Very well done. The light in the sky is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour painting creates such mood...great choices in color and the texture creates a more "blustry" feel:) I especially like the movement in the tree.
