This was painted at the annual Plein Air Washington paint-out at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in March. The Refuge is a testament to the persevering power of determined environmentalists in Washington State, and I give special thanks to the late Helen Engle, who was instrumental in establishing the Nisqually Refuge along with many other preserves.
