Red Flowers with Apple - SOLD

"Red Flowers with Apples", 14 x 11 In, Oil on Panel SOLD
A mentor recently suggested doing 10 or 15 paintings of the same subject. I'm not sure if he meant the exact same painting or different versions of the subject. He said basically that with each one you can learn something new and see the previous paintings more clearly for what they are. I've done more than one with this subject, thrown out a couple of them and find that they don't all necessarily get better as I go along. Its definitely an interesting learning tool.

  1. Interesting idea - I know I'd never get through 15 ptgs of the same subject, but five or six sounds doable! I love this flower painting btw ! :)

  3. If you do 15 of these, you should set them up in order and compare! Then you'll see what you learned! Great reds!

  4. I like this one:) I think that is a wonderful idea and would build confidence thus decisive and deliberate brushwork...fresh and left alone! Will have to try that.
