Ironically I found another painting from Sequim, painted in 2014 on Graysmarsh Lavendar Farm. It was taken and hung by my husband in his office and was not in my database! I am ever taken by greens and lavendars--

This was my second painting during the Plein Air Washington paintout in July in Sequim (pronounced "skwim"), Washington--a beautiful area on the northern side of the Olympic Mountains just off the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

This was painted in Catherine Mix's garden in Sequim, Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula. A group of artist met there from Plein Air Washington in July. It was a beautiful spot.

Dusty Road Utah

"Dusty Road Utah", 6 x 8 In, Oil, 2021

One common suggestion among artists is to use strong value patterns and I often do that. But being the contrarian that I am, I decided to paint a scene with a narrow value range. There is nothing that compares to the desert scenes in Utah. This value structure is enhanced with a light background around the painting, but I am stuck with my dark blog color.
