Autumn Woods Idaho

"Autumn Woods Idaho", 8 x 10 In, Oil on Museum Board

This is another painting with my experimental palette knife work. There is something about the palette knife that takes me out of my ordinary thinking habits, not to speak of the physical ones. I'm curious how others work with the palette knife. Sometimes I take the painting off the easel and turn it around from top to bottom and side to side just to get the paint on where I want it. When its on the easel, I seem to frequently get in the way.

  1. Great painting! I paint with palette knives occasionally. I love the way the paint merges from one stroke to the next.

  2. Georgeous painting, Kathryn! This will sell quickly, I think.
